Quick Update!

SO! I know it’s been a while since I updated the blog.. but I have been so busy I haven’t had time. I also didn’t want to update every meal I ate.. that gets boring! Here’s what’s happened so far..

Since I started the challenge 14 days ago, I have had more energy, more motivation, and more positivity than ever! As of today, I’ve lost 5 lbs, and 5 inches (still have to check today, but as of now..)! I am sticking to my eating plan and working out super hard at the gym, which is giving me the results I want. I am fitting into smaller clothes, and even bought myself a cute new strapless dress.. because I can!

I still have 10 days to go, but am feeling so excited about what lies ahead! I had an odd reaction to the vitamins I am supposed to take every morning, making my tummy a bit grumpy.. but after modifying when I take them. I am back to my old self! J

Three is a magic number!

They say 3 is a magic number.. well.. I can attest to that! So much has happened since I started this journey 3 days ago..

Let’s see.. I  have so much more energy now, it’s almost insane! I started today as I have the last two days.. Spark and my fiber drink. I didn’t have time to make breakfast, so I grabbed a meal replacement shake to supplement. Believe me, I was certainly full! My morning snack today was a pineapple/strawberry mix.

For lunch, I had a delicious salad with some chicken for protein! And flavor, but mostly for nutritional value! I also had some apples with almond butter. I can’t explain how FABULOUS almond butter is. I can’t get enough, it’s almost sick. Haha

For my afternoon snack, I finished what was left of my pineapple/strawberry mix and kept drinking my water! I can be perfectly honest and tell you that the fiber mix.. WORKS. The end.

I went to the gym, well equipped with a pear (I was hungry!) and my fruit punch spark for day 59 of the LiveFit program! For those of you who don’t know.. LiveFit is awesome, and anyone can do it! I definitely recommend google-ing this program, by Jamie Eason. It will change your life! Okay, so I got to the gym, went HAM (hehe), and felt so good when I was done. This hard work, coupled with this challenge, will certainly give me the results I want!

Once I got home from the gym, I had shepherd’s pie. But not just your typical shepherd’s pie. It’s ground chicken, corn, and sweet potato. That’s IT! So delicious and flavorful, I nearly died. Okay that was dramatic, but it was so delicious. I had a small glass of milk to wash it all down. I did, however, forget to take my OmegaPlex before dinner. So, before breakfast, I will take them.. maybe!

SO.. here’s the news I know you’ve been scrolling down the blog looking for! As of today, I am officially a pant size smaller. I haven’t weighed myself, or measured my inches, but that’s what tomorrow is for. So, after months of hard work, the challenge has given me that extra boost I needed to lose those stubborn inches. But, I am on my way there!

Day 2.. not as easy as Day 1..

Today was a bit harder than yesterday, if we’re being honest. I managed to get my fiber drink down this morning, but dear lord was it hard! I didn’t eat enough for breakfast this morning, but tomorrow, that will change. I am going to pack a bit more to eat, and hopefully not be hangry by 3 J

I started the morning with some catalyst and my Spark at work, citrus flavored again. I’m thinking tomorrow I am going to use Mandarin Orange to change it up a bit! I had some fruit for breakfast, and was so busy I didn’t realize I didn’t eat enough until snack time. Once I had snack, I was a bit more pleasant. Like I said before, I struggled getting my fiber drink down. I mixed it with a little bit of spark for flavor, just because I wanted to get it down. A few hours later, I split up an apple and threw some almond butter on it. I find that almond butter is so much smoother than peanut butter and doesn’t stick around as much after.

For lunch, I had some chicken, seasoned with Mrs. Dash Garlic seasonings. I coupled that with some Dreamfields pasta from last night, and mixed some raw carrots in for veggies. I had a rather large glass of water with my lunch, to help get everything down. On top of keeping my eating in order today, I had so much work to do, it was almost hard to remember to eat on time! But, I ate all my lunch nonetheless.

For my afternoon snack, I had some pumpkin seeds and some carrots and hummus. I only had a few carrots, because the natural sugar can sometimes be too much. I had that right before I left for the gym, giving me some much needed energy.

Once I got to the gym, I mixed up my second Spark of the day, took 3 catalyst, and had one of the hardest workouts I’ve had in a very long time. It was a back and biceps workout today, and let me tell you.. I sweat my ass off! It was totally worth it, and I felt super energized the entire workout. I can honestly say I am going to be sore tomorrow, but it is ALL worth it!

After my super intense workout, I came home and nearly ravaged the fridge. I took some OmegaPlex, and I cooked up some chicken with Italian seasoning, steamed some green beans, and nuked up a sweet potato. I was so full, and so happy! It was quite the dinner J

So as day 2 comes to an end, I’ve cut up some pineapple for my evening snack, and am relaxing for a long day tomorrow!  To be honest, I had a good day physically, tried to when it came to food, and had a rough day emotionally. BUT, tomorrow is a brand new day, and will be a lot better J

Day 1

I started my journey with Advocare over a year ago, but have just recently become heavily involved with their products. As some of you may know, I have struggled with my weight for a majority of my life. These products have helped me get a grip with what I need to focus on the most when it comes to my lifestyle, and I am so grateful!

After going to a conference back in March, I decided to become a distributor for them, to help spread the message and healthy lifestyle that is Advocare. I decided to jump in head first, and try their 24 day challenge. For the next 24 days, I will be updating this blog to keep you in tune with how I’m doing, what I’m eating, and how I am losing weight!

I went grocery shopping yesterday to ensure I had all the necessary food I needed for this week. I did not want to be running around trying to find the foods I need to fit my meals every day. I made sure I had a lot of fresh fruits and veggies to snack on, as well as an equal amount of protein and complex carbs to ensure I am meeting my meal requirements!

So, day 1 …

I woke up this morning and started off with my Spark. For those of you who don’t know what that is, this is what I call Advocare’s equivalent to coffee, but without the calories or jitters. I started with a citrus packet, giving me the kick start I needed this morning. A half hour later, I managed to cook up some egg whites with diced peppers (bought the peppers pre diced at Market Basket! So convenient). Along with my breakfast I had some strawberries and some cantaloupe. This was combined with a fiber drink packet that comes in the 24 day package. I had a citrus flavored fiber drink, which surprised me as tasty. I will be honest and tell you that I was nervous trying this fiber mix, because I’m not usually one to drink fiber anything. Needless to say, it was really easy to swallow.

Once breakfast was over, I went about my day as I normally would. About 3 hours after I had breakfast, I sliced up an apple and threw some almond butter on it. I paired this with a glass of water, as drinking water is VERY important.

I am currently in the middle of my second round of a fitness program known as LiveFit. This program has helped me lose weight in the past, and I figured I would couple that with the challenge, to keep on my path of healthy living. I went to the gym today to start Phase 3! Today was legs day, and it was a rough one at that! You know you’ve had a good workout when you’re shaking before the workout is even over. I made sure to have my second Spark of the day, to help keep me focused and alert at the gym.

When I got home from the gym, it was time for lunch. I didn’t cook yesterday like I wanted to, so I settled for a meal replacement shake while I cooked up all my meat for the week. The meal replacement shakes, while they recommend them for the Breakfast meal slot, contain 22 vitamins and nutrients, and are very tasty! These are obviously not recommended for every meal, but are available if you need them, should you run short on time.

After my chicken was cooked for the week, I tossed it in the fridge. I will take out what I need every day, spice it up, cook whatever vegetable and complex carb I need, and manage it that way.

After a few more hours, I ate dinner with my family. While this might not always be the case, I figured I could make dinner work within the parameters I was given. Sure, I had pork, but I didn’t eat a whole lot of it. There was broccoli and pasta as well, but again, within reason. The pasta, for those who are interested, is known as Dreamfield pasta. This pasta has 7g of protein in the box, 5g of fiber, and its gluten free. Best pasta ever! Again, pairing this with a glass of water. Also with dinner I took 2 of the OmegaPlex capsules to help with amino acid breakdown.

I am always a fan of sweets, I always have been. I could not stop craving a cupcake today! So, for my final snack today, I had a banana. This helped cut the sweets craving out and made me feel a bit more energized.

Overall, I started today with a positive attitude, and it’s managed to stay there! My starting weight today was 160.4 lbs, with a 90” around waist. Let’s see how far I can go! J
